Accelerated 8-Day Residential Courses Overview and format

The course format is an intensive 8-day residential course which is conducted in Pretoria. Instruction is carried out by South African and WGTF Grand Master Mr. Neville Schmulian who is rated in the official World top 60 golf instructors. Enrollments are limited to 12 students per course. The entire content of the course is presented in the English language which includes all theoretical material, theory and practical instruction, examinations and tests. The SAGTF offers two qualifications namely:

1. QUALIFICATION IN GOLF TEACHING AND GOLF INSTRUCTION

This qualification is the WGTF Level III qualification. Upon successful completion of this level, students will have obtained the credentials to teach all aspects of the game to the beginner golfer through to advanced and professional players. Courses commence on a Saturday and conclude on the following Saturday evening. Instruction begins at 08H00 in the mornings until 17h00 in the afternoons with a half an hour lunch break.

Qualification Criteria

In order to qualify as a SAGTF / WGTF Teaching Professional, students must successfully pass a series of WGTF prescribed examinations during the course of the residential course. Students are examined on the entire course content. Upon successful pass of all the prescribe examinations applicants are issued with the following:

  • SAGTF / WGTF personalized Teaching and Instruction Pro-card (valid for 12 months)
  • SAGTF /WGTF Certificate in Golf Teaching and Instruction

Examinations

  • 1 hour practical teaching and instruction examination.
  • 3 hour theory examination on the course content.
  • 2.5 hour open book R & A Golf rules test.
  • During attendance of a SAGTF /WGTF course, students must submit proof of their current official handicap which must be signed by a committee member of their local club. The maximum handicap permitted for the WGTF Level III qualification is 12 or lower. Females with handicaps 15 or lower.
  • Students must achieve a mark of 80% or more in each WGTF prescribed examination to receive full SAGTF / WGTF certification.
  • Unsuccessful students are permitted to do a once-off re-examination in each of a failed examination within 90 days of completion of the course.
  • Re-examination fees are R 1450, 00 per examination. This fee excludes accommodation, transport, meals and drinks.
  • Re-examinations are conducted at the course venue.

 

WGTF / SAGTF Level III Course Cost

The cost for the WGTF / SAGTF Level III course is ZAR 9850, 00. The course cost includes the following:

  1. All lecture fees
  2. SAGTF / WGTF Level III Teaching and Instruction Manual
  3. SAGTF / WGTF Certificate upon successful completion
  4. SAGTF / WGTF Pro-Card upon successful completion
  5. Driving range balls
  6. Examination fees
  7. SAGTF Golf shirt upon successful completion
  8. SAGTF Golf cap upon successful completion
  9. Note pad and pen
  10. Gala dinner and presentation
  11. Twelve months free affiliated membership upon successful completion
  12. P.A.T.

Not included:

  1. Meals and beverages
  2. Transport to and from the venue

Enrollment procedures for your SAGTF / WGTF Level III Certification Course

  1. Complete the reservation form.
  2. To secure your place on the course, please fax the reservation form (p. 6 ) together with proof of payment for a course fee of ZAR 9850,00 to our offices. See the reservation form for banking details.
  3. International students must allow for bank charges and transfer fees.
  4. All proof of payments must be faxed to our offices on the date of transactions. Proof of payments must clearly state your name.
  5. On receipt of full payment, students will receive an itinerary for the certification course.
  • Courses are usually fully booked. The SAGTF applies a ‘first come first serve’ basis so early reservations are advised.

2. GRAND MASTERS IN GOLF INSTRUCTION

This qualification is the WGTF Level IV qualification. It is an 8-day residential course which covers an abundance of advanced teaching and instruction applications. Students may only enroll for the Grand Masters course if they are current SAGTF / WGTF Teachers and Instructors whom have logged a minimum of 3000 hours of teaching and instruction. The following subjects are covered in theory and practical:

Integration of ball flight statistics with root cause applications

  • Advanced Video analysis
  • Practice techniques
  • Teaching Course management
  • Marketing for the complete golf instructor
  • Analysis of game statistics
  • Advanced shot making applications

Improving your own gameUpon successful completion of Level 4, students will have attained the knowledge to specialize as a Grand Master in a teaching or instruction aspect of their choice. Courses start on a Saturday and finish on the following Saturday. Instruction begins at 08H00 in the mornings until 17h00 in the afternoons with a half an hour lunch break.Grand Master Qualification Criteria

You will be examined on the entire WGTF Level Four content and after a successful pass you will be issued with the following:

  • SAGTF/WGTFpersonalizedGrandMastersPro-card (valid for 12months)
  • SAGTF/WGTF GrandMasters Certificatein Golf Instruction
  • SAGTF GrandMasters Professional golf shirt

Examinations:

  • 1 hour practical teaching examination.
  • 3 hour theory examination on the course content.
  • Practical shotmaking demonstration.
  • Students must submit proof of their current official handicap which must be signed by a committee member of their local club. The maximum official handicap permitted for submission is 3.
  • Students must achieve a mark of 80% or more in each examination to receive full Grand Master Certification.
  • No re-examinations are permitted for any failed Grand Masters examinations.
